Nature Returns 2025 Webinar Series

Nature Returns 2025 Webinar Series

LUNZ Hub consortium members Natural England have uploaded a series of webinar recordings which provide an overview of the Nature Returns Programme.

Nature Returns is a cross-government collaborative programme to pilot and test Nature-based Solutions for climate change at the landscape scale. The Programme aims to build the evidence base on carbon storage and sequestration by species-rich habitats and better understand how green finance can support nature-based solutions. For more background to the Programme, please visit the Nature Returns website.

Webinar 1Nature Returns: Programme Overview and Local Partnership Projects

This webinar provides the context to the Programme and how it is bringing together science and practical experience to help develop nature-based solutions for climate change at the landscape scale. Our Local Partnership Projects also provided a snapshot of the work they have been carrying out over the last three years to deliver habitat creation & restoration at the landscape scale.

Webinar 2Nature Returns: Emerging Results from the Carbon and Biodiversity Research

This webinar explored some of the emerging results from the research undertaken at our Local Partnership sites and elsewhere, comparing biodiversity and carbon across different habitats and landscapes. We also covered the high-resolution above and below ground research at Kew Wakehurst’s Living Laboratory, including the new methodologies developed through this work.

Webinar 3Nature Returns: Blended Finance, Nature Markets and Partnership Working

This webinar looked at some of the new insights from our research on blending public and private funding to deliver environmental outcomes at a large scale, and the tools we have developed to support this approach. We also included our recent research on nature markets, including investor and buyer motivations and carbon pricing in voluntary markets.

Keep an eye out on the Nature Returns website for the summary report and further outputs from the Nature Returns Programme.
