EAAP Highlights: How Our Grazing Strategies Aim to Reduce Methane Emissions

We are thrilled to share that Ran Yi, a researcher from LUNZ Grasslands, presented findings from our ground breaking research at the recent European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) conference, in collaboration with the American Society of Animal Science.

Presentation Topic:
Mitigating Methane Emissions Without Impairing Production Performance: Grazing Strategies for Suckler Beef Cows

This study is one of the first in the UK to compare tree-based, legume, and grass systems for mitigating methane emissions in beef production, all while maintaining high production performance. Conducted as part of our LUNZ Grasslands – Land Use for Net Zero Nature and People project, and in collaboration with AFBI Hillsborough, our research underscores the potential for innovative grazing strategies to contribute to sustainable beef farming.

We are excited about the implications of our findings for future beef production systems and look forward to sharing more about our research as it progresses.
