Save the Date: Enabling regional and local land use change in England for people, nature and climate

The Land Use Framework sets out a way forward for balancing the multiple demands on land in England, including food production, nature recovery, climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Achieving this will require targeting land uses to the places where they can provide most benefit. This will require good decision-making at all levels: field, land holding, catchment, region and nation and therefore the engagement of many different people, including those who directly manage the land as well as those who shape policy and provide advice and support. It will need to draw on a wide variety of science and data as well as practical experience and be implemented in ways that are respectful of the heritage and values of local people.

This event will bring together policy makers, land managers and scientists to share their insights and experience to inform future developments.

Aims of the event:

1. To bring together a diverse audience to review what science and practical experience tell us about how to implement the Land Use Framework to meet climate and nature objectives as well as maintaining food production and meeting the other needs of people.
2. To develop a shared understanding of the opportunities and limitations for land use change in different regions of England.
