Mike leads on the science of climate change mitigation, adaptation and impacts at Natural England. He was a Coordinating Lead Author on ecosystems for the IPCC 6th Assessment Report and is PI of a £17.5m programme: Nature Returns – Nature-based Solutions for Climate Change at the Landscape Scale. He advises policy makers and conservation practitioners and has produced over 170 publications, ranging from papers in Science and Nature journals to resources for policy makers and practitioners including a landmark report on Carbon Storage and Sequestration by Habitat. He is a Visiting Professor at Reading University.
