Dr Katerina Theodoridou is an Associate Professor in Farm Animal Nutrition at the School of Biological Sciences and Institute for Global Food Security, Queen’s University Belfast. She is the co-lead in the school for the theme ‘Transforming Agri-Food Systems and Human Nutrition’. She has over 12 years of experience in farm animal nutrition, focussing on developing nutritional strategies to improve nutrient use efficiency and animal performance while reducing environmental impact. She serves as an expert in the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in the panel on feed additives in animal nutrition. She works closely with industry partners and previously led/co-led over 10 projects for the European Commission and national governments (UK, Ireland, DAERA/DAFM). She is a grant reviewer for major funding agencies such as BBSRC and NSERC Research Council of Canada. She is an Editor of ‘ANIMAL’, and a member of the Feed and Nutrition Network in the Global Research Alliance for climate change mitigation.
