James is Principal Climate Change Researcher in Forest Research where for 15 years he has worked with researchers across many disciplines to inform policy advisors, managers and practitioners across the forestry sector on assessing climate change impacts, and risks, and promote mitigation and adaptation options. With expertise in plant biology, environmental science and meteorology, he has worked on impacts of the changing climate on crops and trees for over 40 years and has contributed to UK and IPCC assessments.
