LUNZ Hub Early Career Conference

We aim to bring together early career researchers and practitioners from LUNZ Hub and LUNZ Research, as well as other early career individuals interested in these themes, to network, share work, and discuss careers related to land use, net zero, nature and people at the science–policy interface.

The presentations, posters and discussions will discuss the following themes:

• Transdisciplinary collaboration across sectors and knowledge systems
• Science communication and knowledge impact
• Modelling and evidence for land use change
• Integrating people, place, and nature in Net Zero transitions
• Just transitions and community resilience
• Community-based research in academia and policy

The conference will take place on 7 September, from 1:00 to 6:00 pm:

1:00 – 2:00pm Icebreaker, opening and keynote

2:00 – 3:00pm Session 1 – Co-creation and modelling net zero and nature pathways

3:00 – 3:30pm Coffee break + poster session

3:30 – 4:30pm Session 2- Science communication, science-policy interface and justice

4:30 – 5:30pm Session 3- Land use policy and decision support

5:30 – 6:00pm Closing and lessons learned

Travel budget

The LUNZ early careers board has a budget to support travel costs. This fund will prioritise early career attendees who need it for travel to and from the Early Careers Conference (7th Sept). All attendees will be asked to seek out project funding to supplement any requests to the early career board, especially those who will stay on to attend the LUNZ Consortium Meeting.
