My role at LUNZ was to organize and conduct a grazing study, led by QUB, with suckler cows in different sward types: ryegrass/white clover, multispecies and silvopastoral with willow trees. The parameter evaluated were the performance, rumen microbiome and fermentation, and greenhouse gases emitted by the suckler cows grazing contrasting sward types. The grazing study took place at AFBI Hillsborough.
