Heiko's CB7 Seminar Series Presentation: Landscape-scale management and decision making

On the 17th of July 2025, LUNZ Hub co-Principal Investigator Professor Heiko Balzter gave a presentation on landscape-scale management and decision making as part of the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs’s CB7 Seminar Series. Professor Balzter’s presentation covered the structure of the LUNZ Hub, the importance and co-benefits of multifunctional landscapes, and land use policy recommendations for the Climate Change Committee.
The CB7 Seminar Series is a series of expert presentation seminars which will inform discussion on the Climate Change Committee’s 7th Carbon Budget (CB7), the Climate Change Committee’s recommendation for the statutory carbon emissions cap for the 2038-2042 period. The purpose of this seminar series is to provide background on the Climate Change Act, the carbon budget process, and the policy areas expected to be covered in the Climate Change Committee’s CB7 advice. Throughout the course of the CB7 Seminar Series, experts will present on various topics pertaining to CB7 including agriculture and land use, aviation and transport, and power, industry and home heating.
