Save the Date for the Resonance: ‘Uplands and Protected Landscapes’ event
LUNZ Hub ‘Big Tent’ Event, March 27/28, 2025
at the Centre for National Parks and Protected Areas, University of Cumbria and a site visit in the Ullswater Valley
Sharing knowledge, building capacity and joining the dots… How can the uplands and the UK’s protected landscapes deliver for nature, climate and people? What are the ingredients for success, and how might good practice be replicated and scaled up?
This two-day Land Use for Net Zero, Nature and People (LUNZ) Hub forum, led by the PLACE Collective in collaboration with the Centre for National Parks and Protected Areas, will take a particular focus on land use, landscapes, livelihoods and cultures in the UK’s uplands and protected landscapes. With a participatory and creative framework, it will bring in perspectives from farming, forestry, peatland restoration, conservation, land management, community groups and policy makers, and researchers from a range of disciplines.
Participants will be invited to consider practical examples, share experiences, and discuss opportunities and challenges around changes in land management and ways to scale up change for the benefit of nature and people, while helping the UK land use sector reach ‘net zero’ by 2050. The content of the conference will build on multi-stakeholder discussions facilitated through the LUNZ Hub team including events held across Cumbria as part of the Resonance project led by the PLACE Collective.
More details about the programme will be shared soon, including a link to the booking site.
