About the Soil TAG
The LUNZ Hub has identified several critical topics which lie at the heart of the UK’s land use journeys to Net Zero, exploration of which is driven by dedicated Topic Advisory Groups (TAGs) led by consortium members, and including input from experts and policymakers from relevant disciplines from both inside and outside the consortium.
The Soil Health and Carbon Dynamics is one such critical topic, and the TAG is led by Ellen Fay (Sustainable Soils Alliance) and Professor Pete Smith (University of Aberdeen).
Following an in-person inception meeting at the beginning of 2024 during the Hub launch, combined with proactive engagement with the wider community, 52 people in total have signed up to be part of the TAG, spread across the disciplines outlined below:
The Soil TAG is eager to approach our objectives through a range of methods and present our work in multiple formats, which can allow different groups to clearly understand the topics we’re focussing on. While a significant amount of the work will consist of briefings aimed at policymakers, we will seek to create these alongside other outputs that widen the accessibility of the Hub.
As an interdisciplinary programme, we welcome people interested in joining the membership and by doing so, feed into and influence research. If you’d like to contribute to the TAG, or have suggestions for topics to cover, please get in touch with [email protected].
